Partnering with Skills Bahrain

Under the patronage of HE Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi- Education Minister, Ministry of Education and National Skills Commission, the 3rd National Skills competition “ Skills Bahrain” was inaugurated on 26th March 2017 where BIHR was selected to host one of the 17 technical and vocational skills competition, namely, “Cooking” in its campus in Barbar on 27th & 28th March 2017. Students from government & private schools as well as from BIHR competed to demonstrate their culinary skills.

This competition is held for 17 different skills as part of the ministry's interest in the development of technical and vocational education, embracing skillful students and assisting them to unleash their capabilities of innovation and excellence where the winners will represent the Kingdom of Bahrain at the World Skills Abu Dhabi 2017.

Several government and private schools visit the campus during these days expressing their interest in culinary and hospitality as career choices. Presentations through PowerPoint and Live Feed were held throughout the campus for students to gain information on the Culinary and Hospitality certifications available in American(AHLEI) and Swiss (HTMi) curriculums
